DJ Storyteller and Jmar Roache have been part of the Great Food Truck Festival family since our 2nd festival, and they’ve become a huge part of the energy and success of the event! DJ Storyteller keeps the soundtrack going while continuing to grow EBR Media & Entertainment and his Everything But Religion podcast, while Jmar brings the laughs and crowd energy as our MC/Comedian and is now making his mark on the Las Vegas comedy scene. Year after year, these two help create the atmosphere that makes the Great Food Truck Festival feel like the Great Food Truck Festival!

Parking

Event Parking is FREE and located in Zones. Parking Attendants will be on-site in each zone. All vehicles will be required to display the Orange Parking Permit provided by the Parking Attendant. Any vehicle without the parking pass will be subject to towing.

Please follow the Event Parking signs when arriving.

Jounté Ferguson is a rising comedian from the Hampton Roads area who has performed at comedy clubs throughout the East Coast. He was featured on Season 2 of Coast Comedy Live, broadcast on WTKR, and regularly keeps local audiences laughing as the host of a weekly comedy open mic at Cozzy’s Comedy Club.

Jounté is bringing his personality, quick wit, and high-energy style to the Great Food Truck Festival as host of our 90’s Power Hour Bingo from 4:30 PM–5:30 PM. Expect classic 90’s music, laughs, bingo, and plenty of crowd interaction!

Best Food - Judges Tasting Competition

Guest Judges will each be sampling items from participating Food Vendors from 3:00pm - 4:00pm at the Red Tent by the DJ Tent/ Eating Area.

Guest Judges will determine which participating Food Vendor will receive the 2026 Best of Food Competition Crystal Glass Trophy!

Tashauna Williams, better known as the VA Soulfood Queen, is an award-winning chef, entrepreneur, and one of Virginia's most recognized soul food caterers. Renowned for her bold flavors, exceptional hospitality, and unforgettable dishes, she has built a loyal following throughout the Commonwealth. As a passionate advocate for great food and culinary excellence, she's bringing her experience and discerning palate to the judging panel at this year's Great Food Truck Festival. Get ready—she knows great food when she tastes it!

Betty

Betty is a lifestyle, food, and travel content creator with a community of more than 119,000 followers across social media. As the creator of The Betty Effect, she showcases the best restaurants, events, experiences, and hidden gems throughout the 757 and beyond. She is best known for "The Betty Rundown," her weekly guide to what's happening around Hampton Roads, answering the question, "Is the 757 boring, or you just don't know where to go to?" Through her popular "Clock Out & Pop Out" happy hour series, Betty brings people together to discover new places, support local businesses, and create lasting memories. She's excited to bring her passion for food and community to the judging panel at this year's Great Food Truck Festival.

Natalia

Natalia has been a familiar voice in Hampton Roads radio for more than two decades, entertaining listeners each weekday morning on Z104 with her signature humor, relatable conversations, and infectious energy. A Christopher Newport University graduate, she proudly calls Hampton Roads home and has built a loyal following by connecting with listeners through pop culture, entertainment, local happenings, and authentic storytelling.

When she's not behind the microphone, Natalia enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and supporting the Hampton Roads community she has called home for years.

We're excited to welcome Natalia of Z104 as an Official Guest Judge for the 9th Annual Great Food Truck Festival.

Jerry Forrest

Jerry Forrest is an accomplished professional heavyweight boxer from Newport News, Virginia, who has competed on some of boxing's biggest stages against elite competition. Known for his determination, resilience, and hometown pride, Jerry has built a respected career while representing Hampton Roads throughout the boxing world.

Outside of the ring, Jerry is passionate about giving back to his community and inspiring others through hard work and perseverance. We're excited to welcome him as a Guest Food Judge for the 9th Annual Great Food Truck Festival, where he'll help crown the Best Food Vendor of 2026 alongside our distinguished panel of judges.

Best Beverage - People's Choice Competition

Festival attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite beverage from participating vendors by scanning the QR Code available throughout the event.

This is a People’s Choice competition, so be sure to sip, explore, and cast your vote!

Voting will close promptly at 3:00 PM, and the winner will be announced live on stage alongside the Food Judging Competition Winner.

Best Dessert - People's Choice Competition

Break out the windbreakers, overalls, bucket hats, tracksuits, denim, neon, jerseys and all the throwback fashion you can handle! The 90’s Best Dressed Contest is your chance to show off your best head-to-toe 90’s look at the 9th Annual Great Food Truck Festival – 90’s Edition.

Contestants will take center stage for their own 90’s-style runway stroll, showing off their throwback look as the DJ spins some of the decade’s biggest hits and the festival crowd cheers them on! Each contestant will have their moment to work the stage and bring their best 90’s attitude before being judged by a popular Christine Lakin of the iconic 90's T.G.I.F. sitcom Step By Step. 90's Dance Competition Contest

Think You’ve Got the Moves? Now It’s Time to Show the 90’s How It’s Done!

From the Running Man and Roger Rabbit to the Tootsee Roll, Kid ’n Play and iconic 90’s choreography, it’s time to bring those throwback moves to the stage! The 90’s Dance Competition is your chance to bring the energy, style and attitude of the decade to the 9th Annual Great Food Truck Festival – 90’s Edition.

Contestants will hit the stage as the DJ drops some of the biggest dance hits of the 90’s, performing in front of a live festival crowd cheering them on. Bring your personality, your best moves and all the 90’s flavor you’ve got—the contestant who brings the best overall performance will be crowned our 90’s Dance Competition Winner and take home a $100 CASH PRIZE!

Roller Skaters Wanted!

The 9th Annual Great Food Truck Festival – 90’s Edition is looking for 4–6 energetic roller skaters to bring the roller rink vibes to the festival.

We’re looking for confident, experienced skaters who can freestyle, dance, groove and entertain a crowd while skating to a high-energy mix of 90’s music.

PERFORMANCE DETAILS
Performance Time: 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM
PAY: $75 PER SKATER
🛼 4–6 Skaters Will Be Selected
👟 Bring Your Own Skates
🔥 90’s Attire Required

This is all about 90’s roller rink energy! Think windbreakers, jerseys, oversized tees, denim, biker shorts, bucket hats, tracksuits, neon and other fun throwback looks.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You do not have to be part of an established skate crew! Individual skaters are encouraged to apply and OPEN TO ALL AGES!

Selected skaters should be comfortable performing in front of a live festival audience and able to safely showcase freestyle skating, dance skating, footwork, spins and other crowd-friendly skills.

No formal group choreography is required. We want each skater to bring their own personality, style and energy while creating a fun, cohesive 90’s skate experience together.
